A bit about me…

My Back Story & Why I’m a proud Rhymeologist

I was the kid in our family who was often lost in a world of creative thinking, out of the box sideways looks at things to try & make better.

However, I knew from an early age that it was ‘the story behind an idea that was the most important part of an idea’, to get anybody to listen required a story, whether it’s stories about why or stories about who, stories that celebrate or stories that promote. The difference is always well-planned and beautifully created stories.

So here I am, using my enthusiasm for the study of words and their meaning, often picked up in everyday conversations and song lyrics - lexicology and my passion for creatively finding and writing stories like a journalist but with a TWIST, using my unique style engaging poetry to promote businesses, celebrate people or share ideas.

“Marketing is all about Connecting with your audience through the Power of Storytelling”

Why use storytelling?

The benefit of using the storytelling approach to the customer journey and the brand personality, is that it is creative, exciting, different and most importantly it works.!.

It’s about having an emotional strategy which sticks. Meaningful from the top of an organisation to the bottom. Simple - ensuring brand thinking is easily accessible to everyone. This is what branding should be all about.

This is why all businesses need to see themselves as a character in their customer’s story. Discover your story. Tell your story. Live your story. Use agile strategy and design thinking to infuse it into all parts of your business. The way we, as humans, make sense of the world around us is through stories. Cultural stories. Religious stories. Stories our fathers and mothers have told us. Stories are the way we create meaning and our identities.

Every single human culture across the globe has its own stories. These narratives are shared as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation or way of instilling moral values. Most of our spare time is used to digest and consume stories. Films, documentaries, audio-books - we are addicted to stories. They are a part of our humanity. They help warn us, inspire us and teach us we can deal with inevitable change.

Business Storytelling - Why Rhyme & Rhythm Work

When it comes to powerful storytelling, rhythm and rhyme play an important role. From the ancient bards to modern hip-hop, the use of rhythm and rhyme in verbal narratives has had a lasting impact on how we communicate and remember stories - Lets explore why a verbal narrative, together rhythm and rhyming work so well in lyrical storytelling.

The Power of Rhythm

Rhythm is an essential element of storytelling and can be used to create powerful emotional resonance in a narrative. It adds texture and interest to the story, creating a unique experience for the listener. For a videographer, understanding how to use rhythm in storytelling is an important part of the craft.

The Power of Rhyme

The Power of Rhyme in narrative is often overlooked. Rhyme is a powerful tool used to evoke emotion and provide a memorable message.

  • In advertising, jingles often use rhyme to create catchy phrases that are easy to remember.

  • Rhyming birthday cards are also popular as they offer a sweet sentiment that resonates with the reader.

  • Political slogans, too, often rely on rhyme to convey their message.

Rhyme adds a musicality and rhythm to the narrative that makes it more engaging and enjoyable for viewers. Additionally, tips like using alliteration and assonance can make your video more memorable for viewers. Utilising rhyme can be an effective way to help ensure that your message is heard and understood by viewers.
